Site of the 1968 and 1969 National Championships

In '68 I was an observer only and got to be on what we were told was the first ever C-46 sport parachute load. Later that day, Bill Ottley, another guy I can't remember and ABC-TV's Keith Jackson went aloft in a Twin Beech to film a clip for the opening of Wide World of Sports. I got my fraction of a second of fame.

Ted Strong made the first ever competition jump on a ram air canopy.

This was how I killed time between jumps. Note the French Paraboots. I still ride a unicycle today.
